Welcome to The Art Library!

The Art Library is one of Scandinavia's largest specialist libraries focusing on art, photography and design. The library is open to staff and researchers at the Nationalmuseum and the Moderna museet as well as the general public.

Search The Art Library's collections
MONA is The Art Library's local catalogue. Here you can search the library's holdings registered from 1984 onwards. The library's older holdings are searchable in three scanned card catalogues that you can access via the link on the left. Here you will also find the library's databases.

Visit the library
You are welcome to visit the library whitout making an appointment, but we still recommend contacting us in advance. This is because a large part of the library's collection is in storage. To make sure the items you are interest in are available when you visit, make your request in advance.

Opening hours 
Tuseday - Thursday 13.00 - 17.00 (except public holidays).
